Kathmandu – Renowned education consultancy service provider, IDB Global Services, successfully conducted pre-departure session for University of Vaasa, Finland. Held on Sunday at the Malla Hotel in Lainchaur, the session witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 70 students who secured admissions to the University of Vaasa through IDB.
Possibly the first pre-departure session for Nepali students going to study in Finland, the event was chaired by Mr. Bishnu Thapa, CEO of IDB Global Services, and had Mr. Birju Patel, Regional Advisor (South Asia) supporting the University of Vaasa, as the Chief Guest. The event also saw the presence of experienced consultant Mr. Ramsharan Dhakal and other consultants, as well as IDB staffs from different branches and the head office itself.
The session, made meaningful by the active participation of the targeted students, was hosted by IDB’s Managing Director, Mr. Ishwor Ghimire. He briefed the attendees about the objectives of the program, the facilities provided by IDB for Nepali students aspiring to study in Finland, and important considerations for their academic journey.
Chief Guest Mr. Patel emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting international students in his Presentation. He provided detailed information on what students can expect upon arrival in Finland. His 45-minute presentation covered various aspects such as academic expectations, cultural adjustments, and living arrangements in Vaasa.
Delivering a goodwill message, experienced consultant Mr. Ramsharan Dhakal thanked IDB for organizing the session, stating that such pre-departure sessions are crucial for students. He mentioned his close association with IDB over the past seven years and acknowledged the consultancy as a reliable name for students going to Finland. Dhakal offered important advice to students, emphasizing that studying abroad is not as easy as staying in Nepal.
Student representatives speaking at the event expressed their gratitude for the expert services provided by IDB, which helped them reach their dreams. They recommended IDB to any students considering studying in Finland.
The event’s main feature was the interactive question-and-answer session, where students actively participated and posed their questions. Both Mr. Patel and Mr. Ghimire addressed queries related to visa procedures, post-study work opportunities, and academic life at the University of Vasa.
Concluding the program, Chairman Mr. Thapa shared his experiences from his time in Finland. He highlighted that students are about to connect with one of the world’s best educational systems, where ample opportunities exist for both study and work, ensuring a secure future with hard work. Thapa encouraged students to make the most of their educational opportunities abroad and to welcome new experiences.
