Kathmandu: Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari has urged Bangladesh’s education consultancy sector to support the ‘Study in Nepal’ campaign aimed at attracting international students to Nepal.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the 14th ‘FACD-CAB’ Education Fair in Bangladesh, Ambassador Bhandari called for further expansion of cooperation between ‘Study in Nepal’ and ‘FACD-CAB’ in the coming days.
He said Nepal is working to develop itself as a hub for education and innovation by promoting the modern infrastructure, technology and educational opportunities available at its universities and colleges to international students.
Noting that education partnership has remained an important aspect of Nepal-Bangladesh relations for decades, Ambassador Bhandari said around 2,700 Nepali students are currently studying in Bangladesh, most of them in the field of medical education.
Likewise, he said a number of Bangladeshi students are studying in Nepal, while a significant number of Bangladeshi tourists visit Nepal each year. He said educational and people-to-people relations have been contributing to further strengthening ties between the two countries.
Referring to Bangladesh’s large young population seeking quality and affordable higher education, Bhandari said Nepal should promote its educational opportunities among Bangladeshi students.
Stating that the main objective of the ‘Study in Nepal’ campaign is to attract international students to Nepali universities and colleges, Ambassador Bhandari said cooperation from education consultants would be important to expand the campaign in Bangladesh.
Ambassador Bhandari said the Embassy of Nepal is ready to support such initiatives and stressed the need to strengthen educational exchanges and further deepen the education partnership between Nepal and Bangladesh.
According to Bhandari, around 22,000 visitors attended the two-day education fair, which featured 86 exhibition stalls. He congratulated the organizers on the successful completion of the event.
